Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together for over 40 years and have a blended family with four adult children: Oliver, Kate, Boston, and Wyatt.

Hawn has two children from her previous relationship with Bill Hudson, and Russell has one son from a previous marriage. Together they share one child, Wyatt.

In total, Hawn and Russell are grandparents to eight grandchildren.

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are one of Hollywood’s longest-standing couples, with a love story that has stood the test of time. The couple first met in 1966 while filming Disney’s live-action movie musical The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. However, it wasn’t until they reunited on the set of 1983’s Swing Shift that their enduring love story officially began.

Over their 40-plus-year relationship, Russell and Hawn have shared the screen, blended their families, welcomed a son, and became grandparents to eight grandchildren.

From Russell’s previous marriage to Season Hubley, he welcomed his son Boston; from Hawn’s relationship with Bill Hudson, she had Oliver and Kate. Together, they have one son, Wyatt, their youngest.

Although they never married, Hawn once explained that their decision to forgo the altar is one of the reasons that makes their relationship work.

“If you have independence, if you have enough money and [a] sense of independence and you like your independence, there’s something psychological about not being married because it gives you the freedom to make decisions one way or the other,” she said during a 2016 appearance on ITV’s Loose Women talk show, adding: “For me, I chose to stay, Kurt chose to stay, and we like the choice.”

Now the matriarch of a Hollywood acting dynasty, Hawn is proud that her children have followed in her and Russell’s footsteps.

“It feels really good. More than good,” the Oscar winner said in 2025,  according to People. “What feels good is that they’re amazing human beings. They happen to be talented. They’re great humans, all of them. And all my grandchildren — now I have eight — and they’re great humans.”

With their biological dad out of the picture, Oliver and Kate Hudson grew up with Russell as their father figure, referring to Russell as their “Pa.” “Kurt came into my life when I was six, five or six, and essentially he raised me,” Oliver explained in 2024 on his and Kate’s podcast, Sibling Revelry. “I’m the man I am today because of him, right?”

Despite growing up with famous parents, Kate said that she and Hawn “never talk about acting.”

“We talk about film and we talk about experiences,” she said in January, per Parade. “But my parents, they’re not stage parents.” She continued, “It was always more about me learning my craft versus them trying to give me advice.”

While Hawn is proud that her children have become part of her legacy, she says one of her greatest joys is watching them pass down their values to their grandchildren.

“It’s great, and it’s a joy to watch them,” she told Good Housekeepingin April. “I have great children, and they’re incredible parents. I love seeing them with my grandchildren, and I think the lessons they’re learning are putting them in a good direction.”

Oliver Hudson was born on September 7, 1976, to Hawn and ex-husband Bill Hudson. Like most of his famous family, Oliver is an actor who has credits in several movies and shows such as Rules of Engagement, Nashville, And Just Like That…, and Grown Ups 2. He also co-hosts “Sibling Revelry” alongside Kate.

Despite being estranged from his and Kate’s birth father, Oliver admitted to having buried the hatchet with his bio-dad in 2018 on Watch What Happens Live. Still, Oliver has a much closer relationship with his mom and Russell.

“I don’t know who I would be without my mother,” he said on his “Sibling Revelry”podcast in 2024. “I can’t even fathom it. The love that I have for her and the respect and the reverence that I have for her is beyond anything.”

Oliver married his wife, Erinn Bartlett, in 2006. The couple recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in June by posting heartfelt tributes to each other on Instagram.

“20 years of marriage with this incredible being who blessed me with everything that is her! How lucky I am,” Oliver captioned an adorable selfie of Erinn kissing him on the cheek. “I could go on and on about this bubbly bright light who has changed my life but I won’t.. because she made me use this picture where she looks amazing and I look like you could wring tequila out of my eyelids.”

Oliver and Erinn gave Russell and Hawn three grandchildren: sons Wilder Brooks and Bodhi Hawn, plus daughter Rio Laura. And they’re a very open family, as per his experience with Hawn and Russell: “Even now with my kids, we’re just naked people. That’s just the way it is,” he told People in 2021. “Nudity has never been taboo. We were all born naked and it’s the way it is,” he added.

On her son’s parenting skills, Hawn has only good things to say. “He’s the greatest, most handsome, amazing father, actor, comedian, human, son,” Hawn told Peopleabout Oliver in 2017. “He’s such a gift. They’re all gifts, all my children.”

Kate

Hawn’s second-born with Bill Hudson, Kate, arrived on April 19, 1979. She got her breakout in Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous in 2000, when she was 21, which earned her a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. She has gone on to have a storied career in film and television, and her credits include Glass Onion, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Something Borrowed, and Bride Wars. She is also a co-founder of the Fabletics clothing line.

Since 2024, Kate has also been able to add “musician” to her impressive multi-hyphenate career, having released the studio album Glorious. She even dedicated a song, “Right on Time,” to her mother in the album’s recent deluxe edition. The song chronicles Hawn’s life before she became a household name, including her brief stint dancing at truck stops, Kate told The Los Angeles Timesin 2025. “She would go-go dance in cages. Well, she did a couple. Then she was like, “I don’t think I want to do this—I’m going to New York.’”

In addition to her acting talents, Kate also credits Hawn for her personality and positive mindset. “The thing I inherited from my mom, which I think comes from being raised unconditionally loved, is optimism and learning to be the best person you can be,” she told Allurein 2013.

Hawn returned the sentiment, saying, “One of the great qualities Katie has carried on is her laugh. That is one of the biggest gifts I could have given her.”

Kate’s experience growing up in a blended family may have helped the way she navigates her current one. She has three children with three different fathers: Fujikawa, ex-husband Chris Robinson, and ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy.

While she may be well known for acting skills, the role that Kate is most proud of is being a parent. “The best thing I probably do is — I’ll say I’m a pretty darn good parent,” she told Todayin 2016. I’m going to pat myself on the back for that. I got good kids. [My son] Ryder’s turning out to be — I’m really super proud of him. And I had something to do with that, so I think parenting is where I feel probably my strongest.”

Boston

Russell welcomed son Boston on February 16, 1980, with ex-wife Season Hubley. Though Boston is far more private than his siblings, he was photographed at Hawn and Russell’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony alongside his half-sister, Kate, back in 2017.

Russell and Hubley met on the set of 1979’s Elvis biopic playing Elvis and Priscilla Presley, respectively. They married that same year, but were divorced only four years later in 1983.

Since Boston has stayed out of the spotlight and has no social media presence, little is known about him as opposed to his famous siblings. Unlike his famous relatives, however, Boston chose a completely different career path as a therapist.

“The joke, of course, is the rest of the family are actors, you’ve got to have a therapist in the family,” Kurt told People in April. “So we got that covered.”

Wyatt

Wyatt Russell attends the U.S. premiere of ‘Disclosure Day’ in June.

On July 10, 1986, Hawn and Russell welcomed their first child together, Wyatt. He started out getting cameos as a child in his parents’ films Overboard and Escape from L.A., and he landed roles in 22 Jump Street and Everybody Wants Some! He went on to star in the prestige series Under the Banner of Heaven and the MCU’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Thunderbolts.

Though he’s become a successful actor himself, Wyatt wasn’t so rosy-eyed about being on sets as a child. But at home, Hawn and Russell were intentional about not bringing up the workday after hours.

“When [Kurt] would come home or my mom would come home, no one ever talked about acting or the day,” Wyatt said in 2023, per The Hollywood Reporter. “They came home to their kids and we had hockey and baseball and watching Kings games and doing stuff with your family; they had an amazing ability to turn off the switch and so I never grew up with some sort of regard for film because it just wasn’t what we had fun doing.”

Like his dad before him, Wyatt met his wife, actress Meredith Hagner, on set, while the two of them filmed Folks Hero & Funny Guy in 2016. The couple was married three years later, in a Western-themed wedding at Hawn’s house in Aspen, Colorado. They welcomed sons Buddy Prine and Boone Joseph in 2021 and 2024, respectively. Hagner announced Boone’s birth with an Instagram post that showed Wyatt leaning in to kiss Meredith as their new baby lay on her chest.

Wyatt seems to be a similarly doting uncle. He shared his emotional response to finding out his sister Kate was expecting her first daughter, telling Peoplein 2018, “I was happy. I was teary-eyed because I know how badly she wanted a girl.”

Speaking about what it’s been like seeing his dad as a grandfather, Wyatt told Seth Meyers in 2024 that “He’s awesome, ‘cause he can do all of the hard sort of lessons that sometimes I don’t want to have to do.”
