Blake Shelton is pushing back—hard—on the online rumor mill surrounding his marriage to Gwen Stefani.

In a recent interview with Country Countdown USA on Saturday, January 10, the 49-year-old country star addressed persistent speculation that he and Stefani, 56, are headed for divorce, saying that it’s hard for him to trust “anything anymore.”

“Starting in October, I think, or maybe November, I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up, they’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce,’” Shelton recalled. “A week later a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store, ‘Oh, they’re back together again,’” he said while laughing, noting that the narrative sticks until the next quiet stretch sparks another wave of speculation.

Beyond gossip, Shelton said what really concerns him is how realistic manipulated images of the couple have become online. “I see pictures of Gwen and I on social media that I really go, ‘that looks so real,’” he said, noting that details often don’t add up. “But I know I don’t even own that shirt or, ‘Whose car is that?’”

The experience has left him skeptical of nearly everything he sees online: “I don’t believe anything anymore that I see on the internet. I mean, nothing. I just don’t believe it.”

Shelton and Stefani—who met in 2014 while coaching on The Voice—have navigated public attention since the start of their relationship. They married in July 2021 and have continued to collaborate creatively, most recently on their duet “Purple Irises,” which Stefani has said was inspired by vulnerabilities in their relationship.

Stefani has also subtly shut down these breakup rumors herself. In late November 2025, she shared a post-Thanksgiving selfie on Instagram showing Shelton kissing her cheek—no caption needed. Fans immediately celebrated the moment online, relieved to see the couple together.

The following month, Stefani stepped onto the red carpet at Alice Tully Hall in New York City wearing both her engagement ring and diamond wedding band from Shelton, along with an emerald-and-diamond ring he gifted her for Valentine’s Day 2024.
