Freddie Freeman delivered countless clutch moments in the five seasons he played at Truist Park with the Atlanta Braves.

On Tuesday, he delivered one for the visitors after being greeted with boos and being robbed of a home run in Game 3 of the National League Division Series.

With his Los Angeles Dodgers holding a 2-0 lead thanks to a Kiké Hernández home run in the fourth inning, Freeman followed up with one of his own two batters later.

With the bases clear and two outs in frame, Braves starter Chris Sale threw a sinker down and inside. Freeman turned on it and sent it clear over the right-field wall.

The solo shot extended the Dodgers' lead to 3-0 and and provided redemption for Freeman after he was robbed of a home run just one inning earlier.

Freeman was oh-so-close to another HR

With a man on and no outs in the third, Freeman hit a deep shot off Sale that appeared destined to clear the short fence in left field.

But Mauricio Dubón had a bead on the ball off the bat from his position in left. He leapt in front of the Dodgers' bullpen and corralled the ball before it cleared the fence.

Replay shows that the ball was almost certainly clearing the fence had Dubón not been there to make the play.

That home-run robbery arrived on the heels of Freeman being greeted with boos from the Atlanta crowd, who went on to cheer his first-inning strikeout.

But Freeman is a former MVP and three-time World Series champion for a reason. He wasn't fazed on Tuesday by the moment or the hostile Atlanta crowd.

Freeman won his MVP and his first World Series title with the Braves during his 12 seasons with the franchise. But Tuesday's was his first playoff game in Atlanta since he left to sign with the rival Dodgers, whom he's since helped lead to two World Series titles.

There will surely be a chance for Braves fans to celebrate Freeman again once he's retired. But for now, there's no love lost with a trip to the NLCS on the line. And there's no backing down from Freeman.
