Fall usually ushers in layered hair and dark lips, but this season has brought an unexpected trend: baby bangs. If you needed more proof that this polarizing style is back, Florence Pugh debuted new baby bangs at a Jaguar event in New York City last night, fueling the bang-aissance.
This summer, Zendaya rocked baby bangs during her Spider-Man press tour in July. Then, Chase Sui Wonders wore choppy baby bangs to the Venice Film Festival last month, and Jennifer Lawrence and Dakota Johnson followed suit a few weeks later, trimming their signature bangs into a micro-fringe moment. Now, the East of Eden actress is the next celebrity to cosign the bang trend.

Hairstylist Hyungsun Ju styled Pugh in a messy updo with a sleek micro fringe that hit just above her eyebrows. The edginess of Pugh’s hair juxtaposed with her long Bvlgari diamond serpent necklace, while her makeup leaned into fall. Makeup artist Alex Babsky gave Pugh a sharp, matte deep-red pout and subtle black cat eyeliner.
While bang trends come and go, micro bangs are a low-maintenance yet effortlessly cool iteration of the hair look. The style also draws attention to your eyes and brows and is extremely versatile. The best part: They are relatively easy to maintain, especially in fall and winter, since they’re on the shorter side. We can officially say that the shorter, the better when it comes to bangs this fall.
