Jackson Koivun's life 'a little different' after picking up first PGA Tour win

Jackson Koivun’s life has been different since the 21-year-old earned his first professional title in just his third start on the PGA Tour.
Not only has he earned the 3M Open title after fending off World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler by three-strokes, but Koivun is also the first ever golfer to win the SEC male athlete of the year award.
He’s already pocketed over $1.7 million on the PGA Tour thanks to his skills, as he won in his 13th appearance and turned heads, as CBS’ Jim Nantz called for him to be on the Presidents Cup team.
“It's been a little different after 3M, but just trying to keep my head down and focus on the end goal of making it into the FedExCup Playoffs,” said Koivun. “Got a little bit of work to do. Just trying to focus on my goal.” It comes as worrying Donald Trump footage raises questions about suspicious club golf championship win.

With his win, the Auburn product sat right at 70th in the FedEx Cup standings, but has since dropped two places ahead of the Wyndham Championship. Only the top-70 get to participate in the PGA Tour’s post-season, and Presidents Cup co-captain Keegan Bradley has worked hard to take over the final spot.

Koivun is still making headlines, as he’s ranked 70th in the OWGR and is hoping to get back in the playoffs this week in North Carolina.
“I definitely hear it and I appreciate all the kind words people have to say about me,” said Koviun. “I know there's a lot of flutter about certain teams and things I might be able to accomplish.

“But at the end of the day I like to tell myself good golf takes care of everything, so I can just kind of tune that out and just go enjoy being out here on the PGA Tour. I should be able to accomplish some of my goals.”
The attention came from many PGA Tour veterans, as Bradley had kind words to say about the rookie, and so did captain Brandt Snedeker.

“Absolutely, I'd love to see you,” Snedeker said, and that’s how the 45-year-old got his chance to watch and play with Koivun, who has a shot at making the team as a potential captains pick.
“Somewhat of an accident today, but very glad I got to see him, meet him, spend some time with him and talk to him,” Snedeker said on Tuesday during a press conference. “I had seen him in passing the last couple weeks. Kind of wanted to leave him alone because I know he's going through a lot with your first win and demands on your time and all that kind of stuff. Wanted him to really enjoy it.”
