Jenna Bush Hager was shocked to learn Willie Geist’s wife didn’t invite her to mahjong night.

He let news of the weekly social event slip while cohosting Today With Jenna & Sheinelle on Friday.

Bush Hager said she was going to get friend and cohost Savannah Guthrie on the case.

When it comes to mahjong, moms don’t mess around—which is why Jenna Bush Hager was aghast to learn she was not included in a social event surrounding the addicting game at the Geist family’s residence.

Bush Hager was visibly upset when Today With Jenna & Sheinelle’s fill-in Friday cohost, Willie Geist, let it slip that his wife, Christina, hosted a weekly mahjong get-together with a group of friends.

“What? Wait … excuse me?” Bush Hager asked, interrupting Geist with a surprised expression.

Quickly realizing his snafu, Geist stated, “It’s local, so far. We haven’t expanded out,” but Bush Hager wasn’t buying it. “Uh, I live within a 20-minute radius,” she replied.

Geist reassured her that she would, obviously, be included next time if she was interested.

Bush Hager then addressed Christina, or Teeny as she calls her, directly, expressing her desire for a phone call: “Teeny? Teeny, I’d like to just say, who introduced you to mahjong? It was me! Who taught you the Charleston and such? Call me!”

Instead of changing the subject, Geist kept the mahjong meetup lure going, telling Bush Hager it’s a “big social night.” His cohost widened her eyes and asked, “Oh? How big is this?”

After a little joke by Geist about the “hundreds of women” who attend the “open invite” gathering, Bush Hager decided to get her best friend and fellow mahjong lover Savannah Guthrie involved.

“I’m gonna text Savannah right after this. I’m glad my phone ringer’s on,” she teased.

Mahjong is a tile-based game that originated in China and has grown in popularity, becoming a global social phenomenon. Many celebrities play the game, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Blake Lively, Meghan Markle, Cindy Crawford, and Julia Roberts.

“I play mahjong with my girlfriends once a week,” Roberts told Stephen Colbert in 2018 of how she likes to relax. “The concept of it is to create order out of chaos based on a random drawing of tiles. It’s sort of like life. Every day we try to make a little bit of order out of the chaos of life just with our random acts of, hopefully, wisdom and kindness.”
