“Daily Show” correspondent Michael Kosta highlighted what’s most terrifying about President Donald Trump’s recent comments regarding a case of pneumonic plague in Russia.
“Well, we’re looking at it very strongly. We just heard about it. And they call it pneumonia. And pneumonia, years ago, you could treat pneumonia easier. The microbes and the germs have gotten stronger, disproportionately, but we will help them,” Trump said to reporters outside the White House on Monday.
Health: People Are Comparing A Possible Plague Case In Russia To COVID. Here’s What Experts Want You To Know.
“Holy ****,” Kosta said. “Did Trump just say disproportionately and microbe? You know the situation is bad if Trump is learning new words.”
Kosta compared the situation to the COVID-19 pandemic during the end of Trump’s first term, but said it could be different this time.

“Maybe the most concerning part is that during COVID, Trump at least had some qualified people around him, renowned scientists, physicians, public health experts,” Kosta said.
“Who’s in charge of the health department this time around?” he added before playing a clip of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. saying he isn’t afraid of germs because he used to “snort cocaine off of toilet seats.”
“All right, so I’ll see you guys on Zoom,” Kosta said.
