NFL’s Dak Prescott addresses ‘false narratives’ about broken engagement

(NewsNation) — Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is setting the record straight about calling off his engagement with his ex-fiancée.

“There were a lot of false narratives out there on both of our sides,” Prescott told The Dallas Morning News.

He added, “Yeah, it was an unfortunate situation for obviously everybody. More importantly, the kids. And so, for me, it’s just about making sure I’m there in every which way for them.”

Ramos and the NFL star ended their engagement in March, one month before their Italian wedding.

The former couple had a huge fight during their joint bachelor and bachelorette parties in the Bahamas, leading to their breakup, multiple media outlets reported at the time.

However, Ramos’ representative told People magazine at the time, “[They were] both heartbroken that they’re not getting married,” adding, “There wasn’t any rockiness in the lead-up, and there was no big argument or blow-up. It was a mutual decision.”

After “Speakeasy” hosts Emmanuel Acho and LeSean McCoy discussed the split in March and referenced the pros and cons of prenuptial agreements, Ramos fired back in a comment under the video, saying, “This had nothing to do with a prenup. I hope we can put that rumor to rest now.”

Ramos and the NFL star share two daughters: Margaret Jane, 2, and Aurora, 1. The two hammered out a custody agreement in April.
