Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been served "humble pie" in Britain but are reportedly happy with their adjustment to the Duke's homeland, sources have suggested.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to Britain in a stunning reversal, six years after leaving the country. Harry and Meghan are living in the Cotswolds with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The Sussex children have already begun attending British schools.

Last week, the Sussexes were spotted enjoying an intimate outing in the Cotswolds, sharing a casual pub lunch in Oxfordshire. Despite maintaining busy schedules, the Sussexes have maintained a fairly discreet presence since their return to Britain.

Harry and Meghan were photographed together just once, sharing a traditional pub meal in the Cotswolds last week.

Sources close to the couple have now provided an uncommon insight into their life in the U.K. A friend told the Daily Mail, "They [Harry and Meghan] are all really happy with how things are going, with the children at school, with where they are living, and with being in Britain.

"The place where they are staying is perfectly private and they couldn't be happier with that. Things are going well with Harry's family as well, but nothing more to be said there."

The source added that the couple remain "optimistic" about their security arrangements being reviewed soon and that it's "all good."

The source stated, "Both Harry and Meghan are really delighted with the return. The relocation to the UK is being served with a dose of humble pie, though."

Harry and Meghan are "concerned" about their public perception in the UK and have been highly "deliberate" in their conduct, according to the source.

The source elaborated, "They think that if they start posting stuff on Instagram, it will land badly. It is part of a thought-out plan to keep their heads down between now and Christmas, when they will go back to California for the holidays.

"They don't want to shove themselves down people's throats."

The Sussexes experienced a dramatic decline in popularity following their departure from the Royal Family in 2020.

Last July, a YouGov poll positioned Meghan in the second-lowest ranking, ahead only of the disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The survey showed that only 22% of Britons see Meghan in a positive light, compared with two-thirds (65%) who hold an unfavorable opinion of the former Suits actress.

Her husband, however, experienced an uncommon uptick, with his favorability increasing.

A third of Britons (33%) reported viewing him favorably, representing a six-point rise since May 2025, while the share holding a negative view of the Duke decreased five points during this timeframe to 58%.
