The South Carolina Gamecocks have a massive game upcoming this weekend against the Florida Gators, and it would benefit them greatly to have one of the most talented players on their roster available for this matchup. Will that be the case?
It's still up in the air.
According to On3's Jack Veltri, star defensive end Dylan Stewart attended South Carolina's practice on Tuesday, but his status for this weekend's game against the Gators is still to be determined. Earlier this season, Stewart was suspended indefinitely by head coach Shane Beamer, and he did not play last week against the Kentucky Wildcats in an overtime loss.
The suspension stemmed from a punch that Stewart threw in the middle of South Carolina's game against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

“I saw the play that he got the penalty on. I didn’t see it until just now, and that’s unacceptable,” Beamer said Saturday during his postgame press conference. “That’s not how we do things around here. I’m embarrassed to see that because that’s not what we’re about.
Coming into the year, Stewart was considered one of the best defensive players in the nation and a potential first-round draft pick this spring. He had 56 tackles and 11 sacks in his first two seasons with the Gamecocks, but has managed just one tackle in two games of action this year for South Carolina.
We will continue to monitor his availability for this weekend's game against Florida.
