Another season of Ted Lassohas come to an end.

The hit sports dramedy released the final episode of season 4, titled “Being Alive,” on Oct. 7, wrapping up another heartfelt season. Once again, the Apple TV series starred Jason Sudeikis as the titular character who relocated — for a second time — from his hometown in Kansas to London to coach AFC Richmond.

However, in the fourth season, Lasso returned to London to coach the newly launched AFC Richmond women’s team, the Lady Greyhounds, and brought his teenage son Henry (Grant Feely), along with him. Throughout the season, Lasso helped establish the female soccer team alongside Assistant Coach Alice Chilton (Tanya Reynolds).

At the same time, several characters were facing crossroads in their personal and professional lives. AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) must come to terms with her true feelings for boyfriend Matthijs (Matteo van der Grijn), while also dealing with the potential takeover of her soccer club.

Meanwhile, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) also find themselves at a pivotal point in their relationship and their careers.

Here’s everything to know about how Ted Lasso season 4 ends.

What happens to Ted Lasso?

After successfully coaching the Lady Greyhounds to victory, Lasso and the rest of the team and their friends celebrate the life of beloved pub owner Mae Green (Annette Badland) who died in the penultimate episode.

During the emotional gathering, Lasso and his son, Henry, have a heartfelt conversation about death, but he lies to Henry about the nature of his own father’s death. Instead of telling Henry the truth that his grandfather died by suicide, Lasso maintains the lie that he fell.

However, after seeing how Henry is struggling to grieve Mae, Lasso decides that he wants to have a more honest and genuine relationship with him, so he finally tells Henry the truth about his grandfather’s cause of death.

The emotional journey of coaching the Lady Greyhounds and having Henry as a more constant presence in his life has also led to Lasso reconsidering his position as head manager. Lasso has a candid conversation with Rebecca about his future, and it’s later revealed that he asked her to be demoted to assistant manager.

In addition to asking that both he and Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) be the new assistants, Lasso also requested that assistant manager Alice be promoted to the new Head Coach of the Lady Greyhounds. Lasso tells Alice the exciting news by handing her a coaching whistle.

The finale ends with Lasso admiring his late father’s Salesman of the Year plaque.

After being in an on-again, off-again relationship for the last few years, Roy and Keeley finally appear to have committed to each other.

Prior to the season finale, Roy professed his love for Keeley, and after a few emotional conversations, they decide to get back together. In the penultimate episode, Keeley learns that she’s pregnant.

While both Keeley and Roy are grappling with their fears of parenthood, they’re also navigating their future as a family. Throughout season 4, Roy acknowledges that his contract as the AFC Richmond manager could be unknown by the end of the coaching season.

In the season finale, Roy’s agent calls him and tells him that he’s been offered the head coaching job at Chelsea. Roy, who has a lengthy history with the club, considers the bittersweet change and ultimately decides that he has to take the position.

Roy tells Rebecca and although she isn’t open to it at first, she tells him she understands and that the door will always be open for him to return to Richmond. As Roy is packing up his things, he finds a note from Lasso telling him he’ll be a great dad, along with an army man toy — which was the same one Henry gave his dad when Lasso first moved to London all those years ago.

Keeley also signifies that she’s on board with her beau’s choice when she joins Roy in his office, and the two walk out together.

Another major plot point throughout season 4 was the AFC Richmond ownership battle. Unbeknownst to owner Rebecca, billionaire Zelda Southport (Tracey Ullman) had been quietly buying shares.

The power struggle comes to a head at the Bi-Annual Shareholders’ Meeting when Zelda reveals that she’s teamed up with agent Hugo “Higgins” Riddles (Alex Blake) to gain enough shares to become the majority owner.

Just when she thinks she’s successfully taken the team, her apparent business partner Higgins and Rebecca get into an intense argument. However, their confrontation turns out to be a ruse, as Higgins and Rebecca had actually teamed up together and only pretended to give Zelda the final shares to make her majority owner.

Even after Rebecca and Higgins turned the tables on Zelda, the ownership between the two is still at 49 percent each, which signifies there’s a two percent stake elsewhere.

As it turns out, Mae had been buying shares of her beloved team before her death and had left them to Rebecca, giving her the majority 51 percent stake in the end.

Several other characters in Ted Lasso also have a chance to get a fresh start at the end of season 4.

Rebecca struggled all season to commit to Matthijs, whom she met in Amsterdam, as a result of her past anxieties and their long-distance relationship before he moved to London. However, after Roy tells Rebecca that he needs to take a risk and leave Richmond for Chelsea, he encourages her to do the same.

Matthijs appears in her office with flowers, and she decides to take her own advice and proposes to him, which he accepts.

The fate of Mae’s Crown & Anchor pub is also resolved, as she left it to the three pub locals: Baz (Adam Colborne), Jeremy (Bronson Webb) and Paul (Kevin Garry). Her one request? “Don’t f--- it up.”
