The Tennessee Titans made a flurry of practice squad moves, adding three and waiving three as they prepare to start practice this week against AFC South rivals the Houston Texans; on Tuesday, they also worked out one of their former players.
While the Titans added a defensive back, a linebacker, and an offensive lineman, they also worked out tight ends Layne Pryor and Messiah Swinson, though they didn’t sign either to the practice squad or active roster.
Pryor bounced on and off the Texans’ practice squad in 2025 after entering the league as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Northern Iowa. After signing a futures contract in January, he went to camp with the Texans, saw action in all three of the team's preseason contests, and caught two of five targets for 19 yards.

Swinson has bounced around the practice squad circuit since entering the league as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2024 with the Green Bay Packers. After being waived at the end of camp, he has spent the last two seasons bouncing between five teams, including three separate stints with the Packers, and has never suited up for a regular-season game.
While neither tight end was signed, they are names to remember as possible candidates as the season wears on.
