Rapper Yung Gravy and his girlfriend, influencer Ari Kytsya, shared their number one rule for keeping their relationship strong.

The couple recently caught up with PEOPLE exclusively while attending the TikTok Awards at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, Calif. “Communicating and trusting each other,” Kytsya, 24, told PEOPLE when listing their biggest relationship rules.

“Yeah, just being honest about everything and keeping it real. Sounds corny, but yeah, just always being honest,” Yung Gravy, 29, added.

“Also, not making things a big deal if they're not a big deal, because you could fight about stuff, but you're just wasting your time usually,” Kytsya went on to say.

Yung Gravy, whose given name is Matthew Raymond Hauri, additionally said that they’re sure to take accountability when they say something potentially hurtful — and added that they’ve largely avoided conflict during the course of their eight-month relationship.

“The only times we fight is if someone, like, says something accidentally that sounds kind of suss, and then we just like sit, we're like, ‘Wait, I didn't mean to say it like that,’ and then we make up
We haven't fought yet, so it's pretty good. Eight months.”

Since making their relationship public, the couple often appears on one another’s social media feeds — with Kytsya increasingly popping up in Yung Gravy’s music videos and viral shorts.

They’ve also made numerous red carpet appearances since getting together, often showcasing endearing PDA and posing comedically for the cameras.

In August, they shared a joint Instagram post featuring photos from a couple’s vacation in the Swiss Alps. The snaps included photos of the pair smiling, laughing and looking lovingly at one another in front of scenic local backgrounds.

“Mami and papi went on vacation đŸ•șđŸ”ïžđŸ’ƒ,” they captioned the post.
